A transponder is a physical layer device whose task is to map traffic from the client port to the line port, and vice versa.
  • 3R signal regeneration
    enables OEO (Optical-Electrical-Optical) regeneration, which improves transmission quality and stability, especially over longer distances.
  • Demarcation point
    allows you to define the boundary of responsibility and facilitates diagnostics between devices in the data center and the transmission system. From the transponder level, it is possible to monitor the transmission and reception power for all services.
  • Preservation of original modules in end devices
    The transponder can act as a signal “coloring” device, allowing the use of original modules in switches or routers, while using others – e.g., DWDM – in the transponder itself.

The GPTN-200G-1CH transponder is a 1-channel transponder card for 100Gbit/s throughput. QSFP28 ports support LR4 and SR4 modules, while CFP2 ports support coherent transmission. The device provides flexible protocol transmission:

400G transponder for DWDM networks and coherent modules
GPTN-400G-4CH
Transponder/muxponder card operating in the following mode:
  • transponder (1×400G ↔ 1×400G),
  • or muxponder (4×100G → 1×400G).
